Yo Check Out This Awesome iPhone game: Space Invaders Infinity Gene

“THE KING OF GAMES STRIKES BACK!”

Ever since Space Invaders Extreme came out on the DS, I have been very interested in not only modern day arcade updates but also the future of the Space Invaders series in general. So consider me unsurprised when I played Space Invaders Infinity Gene on the iPhone and saw how great it was.

The game begins with the original arcade Space Invaders and continues in an evolution of the top down shooter genre. The entire time you’re given some kickass vector graphics, a fast speed and some really cool weapons to use. The only problem I have had with the game was getting used to the controls. However, this is simply because when you use your finger to control your ship, you potentially cover up a bullet that could kill you.

The best part about this game is it’s ability to create levels out of your own music in your iPod. For the most part these levels generally ended up being the most difficult for me because of my obsession of finding the most fast paced songs to create levels out of. These fast paced levels usually included the following: breakneck speed, walls to avoid, a ton of bad guys, crazy enemy maneuvers and bullets all over the screen. However, this is all happening while “Airbrushed” by Anamanaguchi is playing so it is FUCKING AWESOME. Since this seems to be the only good game right now on iTunes that makes use of your own music, I highly recommend Space Invaders Infinity Gene as a shooter and a music game.
