Yo Check Out This Awesome iPhone game: Eliss
Do you like indie games because they’re indie? Do you like the feeling you get when people say to their friends when they see you “hey check out that d-bag, he’s so indie!” ? If this is you then stop reading right now. If you like good indie games then continue on to hear my reccomendation of the iPhone game Eliss!
This past Christmas, I had my older brother pass down his old iPhone to me, it is a 3g and it has no cellular access basically making it a bigger iPod Touch. It was awesome gift (I am not kidding). I also got way too many iTunes gift cards to use so I have spent way too much on iPhone games. As a result I have been having a blast playing a wide number of various iPhone games over the past week and I hope to pass along my reccomendation of said games along to you: my readers (that means you, Mike.)
This first game I found in a Humble Indie Bundle style pack of iPhone games that were on sale and go towards a charity linked here: http://www.indiesale.com/. The best part about this whole sale is that all of the games are great and all of them are going for the super cheap price of 99 cents. However, one stood out the most in my mind when playing them, the planet splitting puzzle game called Eliss. The game involves you splitting and increasing the size of different color planets while keeping them away from each other and then placing them into color specific black hole things that eat them. Sounded crazy on paper and when I first tried it out, but soon after you start playing the first two levels involved using my finger to bring two planets of the same color together to make a bigger planet or two fingers to split them apart.
Again, sounds crazy on paper, but when I played it I had such a strong feeling of “wow this is really awesome”. Eliss also has a very cool audio visual setup to go along with it. This includes songs that gives me a great feeling of “wow, that sounds kinda like something that would’ve played during the middle of the night in Animal Crossing!” For only $0.99 that goes toward a charity, I cannot recommend Eliss enough if you have an iPhone/ Touch.
