Traverse Minecraft Maps On iPhone

Developer Robots and Pencils are treading seemingly deep waters with their new Minecraft iPhone app. At first glance, you would think that for $3, they’re trying to steal developer Mojang’s million dollar cash cow away from them. However, you’d be wrong. As it turns out, this app only allows people to walk around their created worlds. You cannot build or destroy, and no creatures are around. So, really, it’s a neat way to show others your levels when you’re out and about… I guess.

If that’s all it does, then it’s just going to fall into the abyss that is “Useless iPhone Apps.” I can’t really see this being a widely-used app. Who is going to mess around with a whittled down version of Minecraft? Better yet, how many Minecraft users have friends that actually care enough to check out other Minecraft levels immediately?
