E3’s Over… Only Three Months ‘Til Tokyo Game Show
Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has a new project that will be ready for public consumption by Tokyo Game Show this September. Supposedly the game was going to be shown at E3, but Kojima decided to hold the game back three months in order to make sure its “bulletproof.” Of course, this is a rumor. According to CVG, the info comes from a very reliable “U.S. Publishing Source,” who says the game is a “massive PS3 exclusive that will own the show.” Jeez, ever heard of a soft sell, buddy?
Ocarina of Time remake coming to the 3DS
A remake for what some consider the greatest game of all-time for the 3DS is kind of a big deal, so it’s weird that Nintendo chose to only announce it after massive leakage. IGN found these pics on Nintendo’s server:

Nintendo pulled said images from said server. The idea of a classic N64 title getting the 3DS treatement matched up to the previously announced Star Fox 64 remake. Word spreads like wildfire, and eventually Nintendo broke down on their Twitter feed with:
Zelda fans, one more thing… We’re proud to introduceThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D! #NintE3ndo #E3
The game has been show to developers behind closed doors during the expo, and the secret nature of the announcement makes me believe we won’t be hearing about this one again anytime soon.
Everything You Need to Know About Playstation Move
According to Sony, Playstation Move will become the superior motion control platform for one reason: diversity. Unlike Kinect or the Wii, which Sony says are looking to grab a new type of gamer who was never interested in video games before, Sony has pledged that they will make “Move” games that appeal to not only new casual gamers, but also traditional gamers. How will they do that? Well, they started by noting that many of PS3’s upcoming AAA software will support Move, including Killzone 3, Socom 4, and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. None of them were playable on the floor however with Move.
Sony Loves 3D
Sony kicked off their show by proclaiming that 3D is the future of video gaming, and that PS3 will lead the way as the best 3D console. After showing off a demo of Killzone 3, Sony’s 3D gaming campaign poster child, Sony laid out a montage featuring a host of 3D titles including Shaun White Skateboarding, the Sly Cooper collection re-mastered, Tron Legacy and Gran Turismo 5. The show also highlighted the combination of the Playstation Move and 3D tech to create their own version of interactive experience.
3DS’ Monster Third-Party Lineup
In the history of video games, there is one cardinal rule regarding new hardware: A console launch will only be as successful if it has very good software to back it up. Xbox survived because of “Halo,” and Sega Saturn failed because there was no killer app at launch. (Nights was too little, too late) Well, if you were one of the many skeptics who was unsure of the Nintendo 3Ds’ eventual success, consider this to be the proverbial sock in your mouth.
After the jump, here is a list of third-party projects already in development for 3DS:
New Goldeneye Remake is Official – First Impressions
I have to say, after all of the excitement generated by the rumors of a new Goldeneye re-make/re-boot, I’m pretty disappointed. The game Nintendo showed off today (and finally admitted was real after months of speculation) looked more like a glorified re-release than a brand new game. No, it not actually a “re-make”; as you’ll see after the jump, this new 007 will not rehash the same material of the original. Still, the game in that trailer certainly doesn’t look particularly innovative. It certainly does not look like the successor to a game universally regarded by fans as a classic.

Donkey Kong Country Returns, that’s the name of it too.
I know a lot of people who say that Donkey Kong Country is their favorite game from Super Nintendo. Yet, DK has been put on the back burner since his Mario 64 clone – Donkey Kong 64. Well, DK is finally back people. He’s back and you are going to love him. “Donkey Kong Returns” is a new Wii platformer in the vein of the great Donkey Kong Country.
What New Super Mario Bros did for NES/SNES Mario fans, Donkey Kong Country Returns will almost certainly do for DKC fans. The preview features multiple moments that, watching it, I remember from playing the DKC series all those years ago – Mine cart ride, shooting from barrel to barrel, Diddy and DK jumping on top of each other.
Between Donkey Kong Country Returns, Epic Yarn and Goldeneye, Nintendo fans are gonna be kicking it old school this holiday season.
