Street Fighter kicks are as geeky as you want them to be

When I think of video game merchandising tie-ins, a video game-inspired shoe isn’t the first thing that comes to mind.  Nike and Capcom seem to have been thinking about it though.  Nike has designed two pairs of Street Fighter-inspired sneakers.  Both pairs are SB dunks, and each is designed to bring to mind one of SF’s most popular characters. (Check ‘em out after the jump)

“Ryu”

and “Chun-Li”

As you can see, both shoe designs are basically reproductions of the characters’ color schemes.  While they are “video game shoes,” neither design is overdone to create a “likeness” for your feet.  The lack of bright logos and pictures means that while yes, they are Street Fighter sneakers, you don’t need to tell everybody that.  Of course you can be outspoken about your nerdiness and tell everyone who the sneakers are modeled after, or roll incognito.
