PlayStation Home updated to 1.35

Sony has updated PlayStation Home to version 1.35. The download is a paltry 49MB, but the Home servers are down at the moment. One of our favourite new changes is the new Navigator interface. It adopts an XMB type interface that is supposed to speed up the Home experience. Hopefully the update will make Home actually enjoyable, but we doubt it. There is also some new content available including a FFXIII personal space, some Ratchet & Clank figurines and some SOCOM-inspired camouflaged clothes.

The 'PlayStation Move' Is Definitely Not Copying Nintendo

Sony finally revealed the name of their upcoming wand peripheral for the PlayStation 3 at their GDC press conference today. It's called the "PlayStation Move" and it comes with a wireless nunchuck add-on that totally doesn't look like a Wii nunchuck. According to Sony's Peter Dille, "previous motion devices have used controller[s] simply as pointer[s] of mouse -- our's becomes an extension of your body." Really, now? I could've sworn Nintendo said that at some point about the Wii's controller.

While a pricetag hasn't been revealed yet, they have announced that a bundle with the PlayStation Eye will come close to $99, meaning the Move could run for around $50. There will also be a bundle with the Eye and a PlayStation 3 console when the Move comes out this Fall.

Hit the jump for some extra photos of the Move and its fabulous different colors.

'God of War III' Ending Brutally Ripped Out

During an interview with GameTrailers, Steve Caterson (Senior Producer for God of War III) mentioned that out of all the content cut from the game, "the hardest cut was we had a whole kind of epilogue at the end planned that we just never got... just didn't get... maybe later!"

Well at least the game will be finished at its end. Epilogues are always nice to have, so I can pretty much guarantee this will become DLC within the next few months. At least they aren't pulling an Ubisoft and releasing DLC for a game that fills in gaps in the damn story. I'm looking at you, Assassin's Creed II.

Now this is what I'm talking about. No more of that terrible '08 game. At least, I hope so. While the battles look like they return to and amplify the Sands trilogy's battle system, some of that platforming looked a little too... automated. Just like how in Prince of Persia '08 all you had to do was just press 'A' to keep going, it almost looks like that's the case here. Dammit, Ubisoft if you screw this up, Prince of Persia will be dead to me.

EA has today announced EA Sports Active 2.0 is now in development and will be released this fall on PlayStation 3, Wii, iPhone and iPod Touch. The game will feature a new wireless control system with new leg and arm motion sensors and a heart rate monitor. There will also be a new online hub to track and share workout data with your friends. The PS3 version will be focused on the online aspects, where you can download new workouts and exercises. However, this will be coming out around the same time as Halo Reach and Killzone 3 so we recommend you purchase those games, some pizza and a lot of beer instead.

“The launch of EA SPORTS Active 2.0* will define a new era of interactive fitness with the use of innovative motion sensor peripherals and a heart rate monitor that provide users with a fitness experience delivering real, measurable results,” said Tarrnie Williams, Executive Producer, EA SPORTS Active. “As the number one rated fitness program for the Wii**, EA SPORTS Active proved itself as the industry leader and provided the foundation for our fitness franchise. The success stories we’ve received from our users show that EA SPORTS Active is changing lives and we’re so proud to be part of it.”

Ubisoft has confirmed that R.U.S.E. will be coming out June 4th in the UK, and June 8th in the US on the 360, PS3 and PC. A public PC beta test for the game started on Steam yesterday. The game is looking interesting, at least on the PC. We’re hoping the console versions will help the effort to get strategy games playable on controllers.

EA has confirmed that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 will support Sony’s new PlayStation 3 motion controller “to give gamers an authentic interactive swing experience”. There has been no confirmation that the device will use 360’s natal, or whether there will be a secret mode to pursue Tiger’s other ‘swinging’ activities. EA has also announced that the game will feature The Ryder Cup. The game will be launching on June 8th on the Wii, 360, PS3 and iPhone.

“This is a huge honour for me to be the on the cover with Tiger Woods as I grew up idolizing Tiger,” said Rory McIlroy. “The Ryder Cup has always been my favourite sporting event and the tournament is being played at The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales in 2010. Also, I’m hopeful to have an opportunity to represent the European team later in the year – it’s all very special.”

Codemasters has today announced that F1 2010 will be coming out this September on the 360, PS3 and PC. The game features the official license from the FIA Formula One World Championship. This year, it also includes Michael Schumacher, several new teams and the brand new Korean Grand Prix. There hasn’t been a new Formula One title on the PC for eight years because the platform has been dying, but now Codemasters feel the time is right to bring it back. The old favourite game modes will be returning, including Grand Prix, Championship, Time Trial and Career. There will also be damage modelling, a dynamic weather system and multiplayer.
