Making money on Twitch is definitely a thing. The amount people make from streaming video games on this platform is just plain ridiculous. Its not a bad thing, it’s just crazy that someone makes this much money from doing what they do.
Donations are a big source of revenue for these streamers. Donations can be unlimited, depending on how much people donate to you. It all depends on whether or not people like you enough to just give you there hard earned money.
Advertisements is pretty much the basic way of making money, however you don’t make the big bucks from ads. Don’t get me wrong, you still make a lot of money from ads if you have a lot of viewers, however it doesn’t bring in the amount these other methods of making money through Twitch do.
Subscriptions are where people make the most money on Twitch. Twitch takes 50% of the subscription revenue you bring in, unless you’re in the top tier. Then they just take 30%.
Ninja for example, had 121k subscribers displayed on his screen at the time of the video below. Which if you do the math, 121,000 subs x $3.50 = $423,500 per month. That’s just subscribers, alone. Not advertising, donations or other sources.
There’s also Sponsors that pay Twitch streamers to play there games, or showcase there products on stream to help them boost business.
So there’s definitely money to be made on Twitch. You just have to get them subscribers coming back every month.
