Facebook Gaming’s official group Level Up Gaming Creators (English) for video game streamers on the platform posted in the group yesterday warning users to be cautious of fake emails being sent out to people.

The fake emails are pretending to be from Facebook or Facebook Gaming to get you to click on links that look like regular Facebook links, until you hover over the link and find that its actually to a fake website.

One of the emails return address spells Facebook with just one O.
Things you can do to check whether or not an email is legit or not is to check the sending Email address. Make sure the spelling of the website is correct for starters. Another thing you can do is hover over the links that they provide in the email. Do NOT click the link. When you hover over the link it will show you the actual link in the bottom of the browser (assuming you’re on a PC).
You can apply for verification via the Support Portal on Facebook. If you’re ever unsure as to the authenticity of an email you’ve received, you can reach out to Facebook via the Facebook group Level Up Gaming Creators (English) or at fb.gg/support.
