Many games have been announced, teased and rumored to be coming soon. How soon that is though is up in air. Many of these games we may not see for years, some maybe not at all. Here is a list of twelve massive upcoming video games that have yet to be given a release date.
An upcoming role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt, releasing for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Adapted from the 1988 tabletop game Cyberpunk 2020, it is set fifty-seven years later in dystopian Night City, California, an open world with six distinct regions. In a first-person perspective, players assume the role of the customisable mercenary V, who can apply experience points to stat upgrades to reach prominence in the character classes NetRunner, Techie, and Solo. V has an arsenal of ranged weapons and options for melee combat, all of which can be modified. V travels Night City by foot and in a range of vehicles.
Final Fantasy VII Remake
An upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4. Its is a remake of the 1997 PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII, retelling the original story following mercenary Cloud Strife as he and eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE battle against the corrupt Shinra megacorporation, and the rogue former Shinra soldier Sephiroth. Gameplay is planned to be a fusion of real-time action similar to Dissidia Final Fantasy, and strategic elements, and the game will be released as a multipart series.
The Last of Us Part II
An upcoming action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 4. It is the sequel to 2013;s The Last of Us. it was announced at the PlayStation Experience event in December 2016. Set five years after The Last of Us, players control an older Ellie, who comes into conflict with a mysterious cult in a post-apocalyptic United States.
An upcoming shooter for Xbox One. The Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite – the next chapter of the legendary franchise. Developed by 343 Industries and created with Microsoft’s new Slispace Engine, Halo Infinite was revealed at the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing with a thrilling engine demo that provides a glimpse into the future of the Halo franchise, leading it into new and unexpected directions.
An upcoming third-person shooter developed by The Coalition and published by Microsoft Studios for Windows 10 and Xbox One as part of Xbox Play Anywhere. The sixth installment of the Gears of War series, it is the sequel to Gears of War 4 and is scheduled to be released sometime in 2019.
Metroid Prime 4
A first-person adventure game currently in development for Nintendo Switch. Announced on June 13, 2017 during the Nintendo Spotlight at E3, it will be the fourth main entry in the Prime series. The game’s announcement came nearly ten years after the release of its predecessor, metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Its release date at this time is currently unknown and there are few details about Prime 4 available at this time. It will be the first mainline Metroid Prime game not to be developed by Retro Studios.
An upcoming action game developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony Interactive for PlayStation 4. It is the first game from director Hideo Kojima and his reformed development studio after their disbandment from Konami in 2015. The game was announced at E3 2016 and has no set release date.
The first RPG that Bethesda has developed in 25 years. Starfield is set in space and that’s almost everything we know about this mysterious project, which the studio has been talking about internally for a decade. Bethesda released a teaser trailer at E3 2018.
An upcoming action game in development by Platinum Games, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. it is the third entry in the Bayonetta series, following Bayonetta 2 in 2014, and was revealed to be in development alongside Nintendo Switch ports of the original Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2.
Elder Scrolls 6
Bethesda released a teaser trailer at E3 2018. According to the game director of ZeniMax Online Studios, Matt Firor, we’ve got a long while to wait before Elder Scrolls 6 appears. “The easiest thing is look at how it was announced; it was Starfield and then Elder Scrolls 6. You can go back and count the years between Bethesda Game Studios releases, and you’ll get the idea that its not coming anytime soon,” he told Gamespot.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
From Respawn Entertainment comes a brand-new action adventure game which tells an original Star Wars story around a surviving Padawan set shortly after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. The game will be releasing Holiday 2019 according to EA’s website.
Beyond Good and Evil 2
An upcoming action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Montepllier and published by Ubisoft. It is a prequel to Beyond Good & Evil released in 2003. Its development was characterized in the media by uncertainty, doubt and rumors about the game’s future, until it was officially announced at Ubisoft’s E3 2017 conference, although no release window or target platform has been revealed.
