Codemasters has today announced that F1 2010 will be coming out this September on the 360, PS3 and PC. The game features the official license from the FIA Formula One World Championship. This year, it also includes Michael Schumacher, several new teams and the brand new Korean Grand Prix. There hasn’t been a new Formula One title on the PC for eight years because the platform has been dying, but now Codemasters feel the time is right to bring it back. The old favourite game modes will be returning, including Grand Prix, Championship, Time Trial and Career. There will also be damage modelling, a dynamic weather system and multiplayer.

  • Codemasters reveal Bodycount

Codemasters have finally revealed that fancy new IP they have been hyping up recently. Entitled Bodycount, the game is a FPS focused on “an orgy of bullets and destruction” according to the press release. We’re hoping it’s not an actual orgy of bullets, as that would be disgusting. The title circles around a protagonist working for the ‘Network’, taking down ‘Targets’ (glad they weren’t vague about that). There will be online multiplayer and co-op modes too. Regardless, Bodycount will be hitting the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Q1 2011.

“We’re all massive FPS fans,” said Stuart Black, Creative Director on Bodycount “and believe that there’s room for a refresh of the shooter experience. If Race Driver: GRID™ was all about the purity of racing, then everything in Bodycount is absolutely centred on the bullet and its impact on the world. Our shredding tech enables us to create a different kind of gameplay, where players and AI can’t hide behind indestructible cover and rely on whack-a-mole mechanics. Here the environment is constantly changing as the game world is shot to hell; it’s going to be a huge amount of fun.”

Scrap Metal will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday for 1200 Allards, as part of the Xbox Live Block/House Party. We haven’t decided whether this game is good or not yet, so we might just copy and paste the rest of the gaming industry and give it a conservative 7/10. Hopefully it’ll be fun, but the screenshots on Xbox.com look less than spectacular.
