3DS’ Monster Third-Party Lineup
In the history of video games, there is one cardinal rule regarding new hardware: A console launch will only be as successful if it has very good software to back it up. Xbox survived because of “Halo,” and Sega Saturn failed because there was no killer app at launch. (Nights was too little, too late) Well, if you were one of the many skeptics who was unsure of the Nintendo 3Ds’ eventual success, consider this to be the proverbial sock in your mouth.

Marvelous – Harvest Moon 3D (Working Title)
Sega – Sonic Racing game, Super Monkey Ball
Hudson Soft – Bomberman 3D (Working Title)
Atlus – Shin Megami Tensei
Namco – Ridge Racer, Gundam, Dragon Ball Z, Pac-Man, Galaga
Tecmo Koei – Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden
UbiSoft – Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy, Tom Clancy: Ghost Recon, Tom Clancy: Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
Warner Brothers Interactive – Batman (Arkham Asylum?), At least one Lego franchise
Konami – Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D: The Naked Simple, Winning Eleven, Contra, Frogger
Obviously, this doesn’t mean that the 3Ds will be a success. It doesn’t even mean that the system will be fun to play. What it does mean is that it has the firepower to hold our interest.
