Microsoft has confirmed that Darwinia+ is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday. It will cost 1200 Allards. Darwinia+ contains both Darwinia and Multiwinia, and is Introversion Software’s first console title. We think it’ll be money worth spent. For your 1200 Allards, you will get two games and a solid multiplayer component. We’ve had worse deals.
Marvel vs Capcom 2 – 800 Allards (down from 1200)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Reshelled – 400 Allards (down from 800)
Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao – 800 Allards (down from 1200)
A demo for Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing has hit the Xbox Live Marketplace today. Available in all regions, it’s an arcade kart-racer (just without the karts). Quite why Sonic had to be singled out in the game’s title is a mystery, and quite why Sonic needs a vehicle is an even further mystery. He’s supposed to be the fastest creature on the planet. SEGA have spent years decimating the Sonic legacy, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise.
LucasArts and TT Games have today announced that they are making another LEGO Star Wars game. Entitled “LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars”, it will follow the animated cartoon “The Clone Wars”. Unfortunately, the game will feature characters from the TV series. However, a smattering of fan-favourites from the films will be making an appearance. The game will also have head-to-head combat and an upgraded level builder. It will be available on the Wii, DS, PS3, PSP, 360 and PC in Autumn 2010.
The inventive folk over at NeoGAF have got together to make a new game. A large number of members have joined forces to found Grimoire Assembly Forge, and their first title is a 3D top-down shooter called “Dudebro – My Shit Is Fucked Up So I Got to Shoot/Slice You II: It’s Straight-Up Dawg Time”. It will be released this summer for PCs and Macs. It is being built on the Unity 3D engine, so it should work on any browser at www.dudebro2.com when it’s ready.
The game features the legendary voice actor Jon St. John, the voice of Duke Nukem. The game is paying homage and parody of the industry’s love of violence, profanity and immaturity. According to the press release “although Dudebro II is the first in the series, it has the number two in its name because sequels are always more awesome than the original games – as all hardcore gamer dudes know”. You can catch NeoGAF hard at work on the game in this wonderful thread.
What's that? "Slow news day," you say? Why the hell aren't you getting ready for the Puppy Bowl right now?!
Well then, how about a trailer for this Monday's new WiiWare title Blaster Master Overdrive. This game actually looks and sounds pretty fun. It has that old-school SNES feeling to it that I honestly haven't felt in a long time, so hopefully it'll deliver.
The UK magazine, NGamer, mentioned a couple tidbits on Twitter from one of their "trusted source[s]" at Nintendo who claims Sonic will be in Super Mario Galaxy 2. Not only that, but the source also claimed that he will get his own levels in the "Green Hill Galaxy." Que?
Now, while this crap may sound absolutely ridiculous, so does Mario and Sonic going to the Olympics together. Twice. And Sonic appearing in a brawler dedicated to Nintendo characters. So there is always the possibility that this will end up being for real, but for now, just chalk it up as a rumor with some backing. Here are the tweets:
"More teasing from our insider: Sonic levels will be in 'Green Hill Galaxy'. Matthew's nearly in tears (of despair)"
"We've just had some shocking news from an inside source at Nintendo: Sonic will be a playable character in Mario Galaxy 2! Wha?"
